Originally from Valencia, Spain, Gato Hansen is a self-taught artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, ceramics, and tattooing. Influenced by his early roots in graffiti and illustration, Hansen has developed a distinctive visual language shaped by surrealism, expressionism, and abstraction, infused with the spontaneity and playfulness of comics and cartoons.

His creative process balances instinctive, spontaneous gestures with careful refinement, allowing meaning to emerge in work that feels both immediate and thoughtfully layered.
